Warnings: flashbacks to fastforward, family troubles=nightmare, worried Elf
“I won’t let them hurt us anymore, teddy.” Tatiana whispered.
“Oh my gods!” Tatiana shouted. “You are not serious!”
“I really need your help, darling.”
“No, Mom, you and Dad need a therapist. You need to stop coming to me with all this crazy…” Tatiana waved her hands. “Stuff.”
“Now I have a very important trial I need to go to…”
“Tatiana, we really want you to come home.”
Tatiana sighed. “Mom…”
“It is time,” Caden Pearson swung the door open. He glanced at Rina then back to Tatiana.
“Five minutes, Caden, I promise I’ll be right out.”
He nodded, smiled, then closed the door behind him.
“He seems arrogant.” Rina muttered.
Tatiana shook her head. “He is my boss! I’m honored that he chose me instead of someone else for this case. Now I have to go.”
“Tatiana, you don’t belong here. You need to come home.”
Tatiana felt her eyes getting hot. “If you don’t want to support me in my career then get out of my life!”
“Tatiana! Tatiana, you’re dreaming!” Vaiden shouted. “Wake up!”
She shuddered then grabbed Vaiden’s jacket. The leather sighed against her skin. It was real. She was back to reality.
“Are you ok?” he asked, worry actually filled his voice.
Tatiana felt more than her eyes burning with tears, the embarrassment took awhile, but soon she couldn’t help the blood warming her cheeks.
“I’m sorry.” she sobbed. “I’m sorry…”
Vaiden stared down at the crying girl. What was haunting her this terribly that she fought in her sleep?
“It’s all right, Tatiana.” he barely said. “Everything’s going to be ok.”
