Writer Notes: Well…I was bad and haven’t worked on the stories in awhile, but we are now officially in university in this story! Wahoo!
Warnings: backflashes, sisters arguing over dad’s orders, language, possible infatuation, sister’s teasing each other, and groupies.
“Whatever Delania” Dahlila scowled. “I just like to partay.”
“Is that what the kids call it these days?” Delania laughed.
“Oh, yeah miss priss, I don’t think you’re as innocent as you think.” Dahlila replied.
“I wasn’t the one who went crazy once we moved to college.” Delania said. “What was it that Dad said? Oh yes, now I remember. ‘Girls, be good. Go to class, do your homework, and don’t get tattooes?'”
Dahlila snickered. “There was also something about staying away from boys and their disease ridden penises too.”
“He didn’t say that…not exactly that.” Delania tried to surpress her laugh. “He said just stay away from boys.”
“And their heads.” Dahlila added.
Delania shook her head. “Stop trying to switch subjects.”
“I’m not trying to do anything.” Dahlila huffed. “There’s nothing wrong with having a good time. My grades are great. I haven’t missed a single class this semester!”
“This semester.” Delania pointed out. “You almost flunked out laster semester. That’s why Dad cut you off. You didn’t make good grades. You don’t get any cash. So where was your head?”
“In a drunken state of fascination…”
“…in the backseat of Hector’s car.”
“That’s not what you told Dad.” Delania pointed out.
“No, I’m sure Dad would have appreciated me explaining sex to him.” Dahlila snickered.
Delania sighed. Sometimes her sister was frustrating. “You said the professors hated you.”
“That part is true!”
“I didn’t lie.” Dahlila said. “I just purposely didn’t say the whole truth. And besides, what’s it to you? Dad didn’t cut you off. And you didn’t tell him you had a boy-toy either!”
“Well,” Delania began. “I don’t have a ‘boy-toy.’ And neither did I mean to attract any boy’s attention.”
“I was just studying…”
“…and he came down to the kitchen…”
“I had seen Estev around. We even talked a little before hand.”
“He asked if I needed some help studying and I…”
“Well, truth was I did.”
“He’s a senior and he had passed the class so why not use his expertise?”
“And besides, we were friends for months until…”
“That day at the library.”
“Again, I didn’t mean to attract any guy’s attention, especially not Tommy McCarren’s!”
“Maybe things did start to move fast after that, but…”
“But I love Estev so there’s nothing wrong with being with him.”
“Yeah, you’ve known Estev Questio for a few months and that’s all right, but we’ve known Hector since when? Grade school? And it’s wrong?”
“That has nothing to do with it!” Delania exclaimed. “You and Hector are just using each other. Estev and I actually love each other and are committed to one another.”
“Yeah, I hear it from the wall behind me every night!”
Delania just smiled. “Dahlila, you know what your problem is right? Why you can’t just be with any guy in a real relationship? It’s because you’re already infatuated with someone else.”
“And who would that be?”
“Come on!” Delania shrieked. “The Dracula poster here a clue? The internet searches on your computer? Just admit it! You’ve got the hots for a one Latimere Greenbrooke!”
Dahlila jumped up. “I do not!” she shouted. “For the record that poster was here when I got this room! And another thing…why are you checking my web searches? That’s an invasion of privacy!”
“Actually I didn’t check your web searches.” Delania said. “That was just a test.”
Dahlila threw her hands up in the air. “Why are you bringing any of this up?!”
“Well, sister, if you are not infatuated with Mr. Greenbrooke then…why are you blushing?”
“This is not blushing!”
“I don’t have a crush on a damn Vampire!”
“Speaking of Vampires…” Austin said entering the room. “There’s one being surrounded by groupies downstairs.”
“Were you eavesdropping?” Dahlila asked.
“Maybe.” Austin smirked. “How else am I suppose to get the hot gossip?”
“I’m so glad you’re here! Spring break is going to be awesome!” Dahlila shrieked.
“I’m surprised that you girls wanted to spend it with me.” Zarah smiled.
“Well, we haven’t seen much of you since college started.” Dahlila said. “We miss you.”
“Aww, I’ve missed you girls too.”
“This is going to be a vacation to remember!” Dahlila laughed.
Additional: I imagine in the picture above Austin asking Rebecca Alpine in front of him if she’s all right and her replying:
“She’s…she’s…just so beautiful.”
